Welcome to my collection of fine art prints – Byres Road – a personal journey.

Byres Road is not merely a street – it is a lively, mad, eclectic bouillabaisse of a street that is both shabby and fabby, old and bold. My exhibition is a collection of tiny fragments of Byres Road life, details from the buildings and structures that often escape a second glance.

Walking the length of Byres Road many scores of times, wandering around the streets and alleys along its length, it occurs to me that I am looking at the place I grew up in with new eyes – I see beauty and pattern, shape and texture in every railing, every set of steps leading up or down to a flower pot strewn doorway. When the sun is low, every single piece of sandstone glows as if from a light within and I can feel every line and mark hewn into the rock – fossils of labour and craftsmanship and industry from the Victorian era.

Byres Road – a personal journey is just a collection of pictures - but for me, they are glimpses that invoke memories, feelings and a sense of home.
